Our new brochure Highland Farms - Walking through Iceland´s past has just arrived ! The touring Club (FFF), the municipality of Fljotsdalsherad and Vopnafjordur´s Cultural centre Kaupvangur have joined forces to increase cultural tourism services in Jökuldalsheiði, Vopnafjarðarheiði and Selárdalur. The old highland farms in these areas are being connected to each other by hiking trails for nature and history enthusiasts. Receptacles are located at each set of ruins, containing a guestbook and a stamp along with information about that farm, including its residents and history. Cards for stamping at each site are sold at our office in Tjarnaras 8, Egilsstadir and also at the higland farm Sænautasel, the camping place in Egilsstadir and information centres in Egilsstadir and Vopnafjordur. On the photo are Þorvaldur Hjardar, the board chairman of the Touring Club (FFF), Ólafur Áki the municipal manager of Vopnafjordur and Ingólfur Sveinsson, the leading representative of the association "Vinir Selársdals", holding the new brochure.
